Construction Finance Analyst.
Location: Chandler, AZ – Hybrid.
Local candidates only. Candidates must currently reside within commuting distance of the Chandler, AZ area. This position requires a combination of onsite and remote work.
ASAP is hiring a Construction Finance Analyst to support a major capital construction program in Chandler, Arizona. This position will provide financial and cost management support to a capital construction team, with a strong focus on project budgets, cash flow, forecasting, commitments, change orders, cost reporting, and financial analysis.
The ideal candidate will be highly detail-oriented, comfortable working with numbers and large amounts of project data, and capable of working effectively in a fast-paced construction environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and issue monthly and quarterly cash flow forecasts for the capital construction team.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and total project funding and commitment forecasts.
- Manage and control capital project budgets and spending at the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) level.
- Create WBS codes and ensure proper alignment with project scope.
- Validate and approve purchase requisitions and change orders.
- Review project invoices and ensure invoices are properly coded and forwarded for accounts payable processing.
- Oversee and report on contractor buyout of subcontract bid packages, where applicable.
- Schedule and lead regular cost meetings with contractors and engineering teams to align on project budgets, spending, and change-order status.
- Manage, validate, track, and report project change orders.
- Perform monthly spend-to-forecast variance analysis and help drive forecasts to actual spending within required acceptance ranges.
- Perform project risk and opportunity analysis.
- Prepare ad hoc financial reporting and analysis as required.
- Ensure compliance with established reporting standards and corporate finance and accounting policies.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Business Analytics, or a related field.
- Approximately 5–12 years of relevant professional experience.
- Experience working on or directly supporting construction projects is required.
- Strong cost management, finance, and/or project planning skills.
- Demonstrated experience developing and managing project budgets, cash flows, and forecasts.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with excellent attention to detail.
- Strong decision-making skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to effectively work with project financial and cost data in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and related information technology tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Working knowledge of SAP.
- Experience with Power BI and cost management applications.
- Experience with Microsoft Project.
- OSHA 10-hour certification.
- Previous experience supporting semiconductor, commercial construction, industrial, or refinery projects.
