Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager II to support capital improvement projects at the Monticello Nuclear Plant in Monticello, Minnesota. This role is responsible for full lifecycle (cradle-to-grave) management of nuclear capital projects including plant modifications, equipment replacements, and facility upgrades.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage capital projects from initiation through closeout.
- Develop project scopes, schedules, cost estimates, and funding requests.
- Oversee budgets, cost controls, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Coordinate engineering, maintenance, construction, and vendor activities.
- Manage contractor performance and ensure milestone achievement.
- Lead project meetings and provide executive-level updates.
- Support procurement activities, vendor selection, and contract management.
- Ensure compliance with nuclear regulatory, safety, and quality standards.
Projects are typically valued at $1M+ and may involve system modifications, equipment replacements, and facility upgrades.
Required Qualifications:
- 5–7+ years of cradle-to-grave project management experience.
- Experience managing capital projects valued at $1M or greater.
- Strong understanding of PMI/PMBOK predictive (Waterfall) project management methodologies.
- Ability to work onsite at Monticello Nuclear Plant.
- Must be eligible to obtain unescorted nuclear plant access (background check and fitness-for-duty screening required).
Preferred Qualifications:
- ABET-accredited degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Nuclear Engineering.
- Commercial nuclear power experience strongly preferred.
- Ex-Navy Nuclear or prior utility/power plant experience preferred if no commercial nuclear background.
- Construction project experience.
- Finance or cost controls background.
- Experience with:
- SAP
- Primavera P6
- MS Project
- Unifier
- UKG Workday
- Experience with organizations such as WECTEC or GE is considered a plus.
